Connect your agent with MCP or the API
Make a key, add the Rykon Mail MCP server to Claude or any MCP client, or call the inbox API directly.

Make a key
- Step 1: On the agent's page, under Keys, choose New key.
- Step 2: Copy it now. It starts
rmk_, is shown once and is not stored.
A key reaches this agent's mailbox and nothing else on your account. Revoke ends it at once. The list shows when each key was made and last used.
Connect over MCP
The Rykon Mail MCP server is one file with no dependencies, for Node 18 or later. It gives the agent six tools: whoami, inbox, read_message, reply, send_message and message_status. With Claude Code:
curl -o rykon-mail-mcp.mjs https://app.rykonmail.com/assets/agents/rykon-mail-mcp.mjs
claude mcp add rykon-mail \
-e RYKON_MAIL_AGENT_KEY=<your key> \
-e RYKON_MAIL_API=https://app.rykonmail.com/api/agent/v1 \
-- node "$PWD/rykon-mail-mcp.mjs"Any other MCP client works the same way: run the file with Node and set RYKON_MAIL_AGENT_KEY in its environment.
Or call the API directly
Send the key as Authorization: Bearer on every request to https://app.rykonmail.com/api/agent/v1.
| Request | Does |
|---|---|
GET /me | The agent's name, address and the rules its sending is held to. |
GET /messages?unseen=true&limit=20 | The inbox, newest first. Up to 100 at a time. |
GET /messages/{uid} | One message in full. Reading it marks it seen. |
POST /messages | Send, with to, cc, subject and text, or reply in the thread with replyTo and text. |
GET /outbox/{id} | Whether a send is pending, sent or rejected. |
curl https://app.rykonmail.com/api/agent/v1/messages -X POST \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $RYKON_MAIL_AGENT_KEY" \
-H "content-type: application/json" \
-d '{"replyTo": 12, "text": "Thanks, here is what you asked for."}'A send within the rules answers with its state, sent. A send outside them answers 202 with state: "pending" and the reason it is waiting. Do not send it again: check it later with GET /outbox/{id}.
