Sending limits on each plan
How many messages each kind of mail can send an hour, and what happens when a limit is reached.

Limits protect your sending reputation and everyone else's. Each kind of mail has its own, and none of them ever loses a message: mail over a limit waits, or is refused with a reason you can see.
| Kind of mail | Trial | Starter | Business |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mail people send from their mailboxes, per domain, an hour | 60 | 500 | 2,000 |
| Campaigns and automation emails together, an hour | 200 | 1,000 | 5,000 |
| Transactional mail through the Sending API, an hour | 100 | 2,000 | 10,000 |
Other limits
- Transactional mail to any one address: 20 a day.
- Test copies of campaigns and automations: 30 an hour, to people on your account.
- Each AI agent: 50 messages a day by default, which you can set from 0 to 10,000. Messages over it wait for a person to approve them.
- An agent answering automatically writes to any one person at most three times a day.
What happens at a limit
| Kind | At the limit |
|---|---|
| Campaigns | The campaign waits and carries on as the hour rolls over. It does not fail. |
| Automations | Emails wait for room, then go. |
| Sending API | The request is refused with HTTP 429. Try again later. |
Campaigns shows how much of this hour you have used, and Sending API shows the same for transactional mail.
