Your audience and what each contact shows
Who is subscribed, who is waiting to confirm, how each person joined and what they agreed to.

Audience is everyone who asked to hear from you, how they joined and what they agreed to. Campaigns and automations only ever go to people subscribed here.
People arrive in two ways: by signing up on one of your forms, or in a list you import with a record of how they agreed. There is no way to type someone in by hand, because every contact must arrive with proof of consent.
The page at a glance
- Four cards: Subscribed, Awaiting confirmation, Unsubscribed and Live sign-up forms. Each is a link to that list.
- Three tabs: People, Sign-up forms and Kinds of email.
- Owners and admins also see Import a list and New sign-up form.
Find people
Filter with Everyone, Subscribed, Awaiting confirmation or Unsubscribed, and use Search name or email. The list shows each person, How they joined, up to three tags, when they joined and their status.
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Subscribed | Gets your campaigns. |
| Awaiting confirmation | Signed up on a form that confirms by email and has not used the link yet, or was imported as not confirmed. Never sent marketing. |
| Unsubscribed | Never mailed again unless they sign up again themselves. |
| Bounced | Their address could not take mail. Never sent to again. |
| Marked as spam | They reported your mail as spam. Never sent to again. |
Open a contact
Select a person to see their record:
- Agreed to: the exact consent words they saw, kept word for word.
- When they agreed, and From address: the IP address the sign-up came from, where it was recorded.
- Confirmed by email: when they used the confirmation link, or Not yet.
- History: what has happened, with dates.
- The kinds of email they get, if you use kinds. See Kinds of email.
Unsubscribe or erase someone
- Unsubscribe stops all marketing to them, the same as if they had used the link in an email.
- Erase deletes their record and history. Their address stays on the do-not-mail list so they are not added back by mistake.
Export your contacts
Export CSV downloads your contacts as a spreadsheet, named with today's date.
