An automation is a welcome series that sends itself. Each person gets the emails on their own schedule from the moment they subscribe, and stops the moment they unsubscribe.

Create it

  1. Step 1: Go to Automations and choose New automation. It is created as Welcome series and opens in the editor.
  2. Step 2: Give it a Name, for you.
  3. Step 3: Under Starts when someone subscribes through, choose Any of your forms or one form.
  4. Step 4: Optionally, under Only if they are tagged, enter a tag so it starts only for people with it.
  5. Step 5: Set the sender: From name, From address on one of your domains, and the address replies go to.
  6. Step 6: Write the first email, add more steps, then choose Save.

When it starts and stops

  • It starts for people who subscribe after it is switched on. People already on your list are not sent it.
  • With a form that confirms by email, it starts once they confirm their address.
  • Each person goes through it once. Someone who unsubscribes and later signs up again does not start it again.
  • It stops for anyone who unsubscribes, bounces or marks an email as spam.
