Unsubscribes and the do-not-mail list
What your readers see when they unsubscribe, one-click unsubscribe in mail apps, and who can never be mailed again.

Every email carries a way out
Every campaign and automation email ends with a footer your design cannot remove: why they are getting it, your account name and postal address, and an Unsubscribe link. It also carries the one-click unsubscribe header, so mail apps such as Gmail and Apple Mail can show their own unsubscribe button.
What a reader sees
- The link opens a page that asks first, Unsubscribe from your account name, because link scanners open every link and must not unsubscribe anyone by accident.
- If the email had a kind, the page offers Only stop that kind as well as Unsubscribe from everything.
- Afterwards it confirms: You are unsubscribed, or that they will get no more of that kind.
- An unsubscribe from a mail app's own button takes effect at once.
Unsubscribing takes effect immediately, including for anyone part-way through an automation.
The do-not-mail list
| Reason | Can they be mailed again? |
|---|---|
| Unsubscribed | Only if they sign up again on one of your forms themselves. |
| Erased by your team | Only if they sign up again themselves. |
| Hard bounce | Never. |
| Reported as spam | Never. |
