On this page
Every mailbox works in any app that speaks IMAP, which is nearly all of them. The quickest route is the mailbox's own guide: in Mailboxes, choose Set up on its row. The page shows step-by-step instructions for each device and, under Settings for any app, the exact values to type.
The settings
| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| User name | The full email address, like jane@yourcompany.com |
| Password | The mailbox password created in the console |
| Incoming server (IMAP) | The server name shown on the mailbox's Set up page, port 993, security SSL/TLS |
| Outgoing server (SMTP) | The same server name, port 587, security STARTTLS |
Use the same user name and password for incoming and outgoing mail. Connections are always encrypted.
iPhone, iPad or Mac
- Step 1: On the device, open the mailbox's Set up page and choose Download the profile.
- Step 2: iPhone and iPad: open Settings, then Profile Downloaded, and Install. Mac: System Settings, Privacy and Security, Profiles.
- Step 3: Enter the mailbox password when asked. The account appears in Mail.
Android (Gmail app)
- Step 1: In Gmail, tap your picture, then Add another account, Other.
- Step 2: Enter the address, then Manual setup, Personal (IMAP).
- Step 3: Incoming server: the server name, port 993, SSL/TLS. Outgoing server: the same name, port 587, STARTTLS. Same user name and password for both.
Outlook on Windows or Mac
- Step 1: Add an account, enter the address, then Advanced options, Let me set up my account manually, IMAP.
- Step 2: Incoming: the server name, port 993, SSL/TLS. Outgoing: the same name, port 587, STARTTLS.
- Step 3: Enter the mailbox password for both.
Thunderbird
- Step 1: Account Settings, Account Actions, Add Mail Account. Enter your name, the address and the password.
- Step 2: Thunderbird finds the settings itself. If it asks, use the ones above.
Webmail
Read and send mail in a browser at mail.rykonmail.com, the Rykon Mail inbox. Sign in with your Rykon Mail account, the same sign-in as the console; there is no mailbox password to type. See Read your mail in Rykon Mail.
If you prefer the classic webmail, it is at classic.rykonmail.com. There you sign in with the mailbox's full address and its password.
