Read your mail in Rykon Mail
Open Mail, find your way round the mailboxes and folders, read a conversation, and see what the sender checks mean.

Mail is where you read and write your email in the browser. You sign in once, at id.rykonmail.com, with the same sign-in you use for the console; there is no second password for your mailbox.
Open Mail
- Go to mail.rykonmail.com. If you are signed in to the console already, you go straight in.
- From the console, choose Mail at the top of the side menu, or Open in Mail beside a mailbox on Mailboxes.
- In Mail, the grid button beside the logo switches to the Console, if your role has one.
The three panes
| Pane | What it holds |
|---|---|
| Left | New message, then every mailbox you may open: My mailbox first, then Shared with you, then Agents. The open one shows its folders: Inbox, Snoozed (once you snooze something), Drafts, Sent, Scheduled (while messages wait to be sent), Archive, Junk and Trash, with unread counts, then its Labels. Contacts is at the bottom. |
| Middle | The messages in the folder, newest first. Unread ones are in bold with a blue dot, and labels show as small coloured pills. Hover a message for Archive, Delete, Mark as read, Star, Label and Snooze. |
| Right | The open message, with the rest of its conversation: earlier messages are folded to one line; choose one to unfold it, or Expand all. |
Drag the thin lines between the panes to make one wider; Mail remembers the widths. On a phone you see one pane at a time: the menu button opens the mailboxes and folders, and the back arrow returns to the list.
Who sent it
- Verified: the sender's domain checks (SPF, DKIM and DMARC) passed on our mail server. Point at it to see each one.
- Sender not verified: the checks failed. A red box explains it. Be careful with links and attachments.
- This sender is pretending to be your domain: the address only looks like yours (one letter changed, say). Do not reply, open links or pay anything it asks for.
- From outside your organisation: the sender is not at one of your account's domains.
- Not checked: our mail server recorded no result, so we say nothing either way.
Attachments
Attachments are listed under the message with their size; choose one to download it. Files that can run code on your computer (programs, scripts, Office files with macros, web pages) say Can run code, open with care. Attachments are always downloaded, never opened inside Mail.
Organise
- Archive moves the message out of the Inbox and keeps it. Delete moves it to Trash. Both show Undo for a few seconds.
- Junk moves it to Junk and teaches the filter; in Junk, Not junk moves it back.
- Move to files it in any folder. Mark as unread and Star do what they say.
- In Trash, Delete for good removes a message permanently.
- To work on many messages at once, file them in your own folders, or empty Trash and Junk, see Organise your mail.
Print, and the original message
- More (the three dots over the message), Print, opens the message laid out for paper in a new tab, with who it is from and to, the date and its attachments' names, and opens your browser's print dialog. If its images are hidden, Include images there shows them first.
- More, Show original headers shows the message's headers as our mail server holds them: the route it took, the sender checks, its Message-ID. Copy puts them on your clipboard, for your IT person or for us.
- More, Download original saves the whole message as an .eml file, which any mail app opens.
