Add a domain and confirm you own it
Add the domain your addresses are on, then publish one TXT record so we know it is yours. Nothing is set up before that.

A domain is the part after the @ in your addresses. Each one is proved to be yours before anything is set up for it, so nobody else can claim your domain on Rykon Mail.
Add the domain
- Step 1: Go to Domains and choose Add domain. Only owners and admins see the button.
- Step 2: Under Domain name, enter the domain, for example
yourcompany.com. You can paste a web address or an email address; the console keeps just the domain. - Step 3: Choose Continue. The domain's page opens, with a progress bar: Confirm ownership, Add mail records, Verify, Ready.
Confirm ownership
The domain's page offers to do this for you under Set it up automatically (see Publish your DNS records automatically). To do it yourself, use the panel Or confirm you own yourcompany.com by hand, which shows one record:
| Type | Host | Value |
|---|---|---|
| TXT | _rykonmail | rykonmail-verification= followed by a code unique to your domain |
- Step 1: Open the DNS settings wherever your domain is managed: your registrar, Cloudflare, your web host or your IT provider.
- Step 2: Add a new TXT record. Copy the host and the value from the console with the copy buttons beside them.
- Step 3: Save it, and leave the domain's page open. It updates by itself, and Status changes from Looking for it now to Published when we see the record.
We look again every ten minutes. Most providers publish a change within a few minutes; some take up to an hour. Owners and admins can press Check now to look straight away.
Limits
Trial accounts can add 2 domains, Starter 5 and Business 100. When you reach the limit, Domains says so and the Add domain button is replaced by a link to talk to us. A domain already in use on another Rykon Mail account cannot be added.
