Until your first domain is ready, Overview shows a checklist called Set up email on your domain. These are the same four steps, with what to expect at each.
1. Add your domain
Go to Domains and choose Add domain. Enter the part after the @ in your addresses, for example yourcompany.com, and choose Continue. You need access to the domain's DNS settings, wherever it is managed. More in Add a domain.
2. Confirm you own it
Rykon Mail gives you one TXT record. Nothing is set up for the domain until we see it, so nobody else can claim your domain. If your DNS is at Cloudflare, or at a provider that supports one-click setup, the console can add it for you.
3. Add the mail records
Once ownership is confirmed, we set up your mail server and sending and show you the mail records: where incoming mail goes, and the records that prove your mail is really from you. Add them automatically or copy them into your DNS. The page checks each one and ticks it off as it appears. See Publish your DNS records automatically and Add the mail records by hand.
4. Create your first mailbox
When the domain says Ready, choose Create mailboxes. Give the mailbox an address, create its password, and sign in from Apple Mail, Outlook, Thunderbird or your phone. See Create and manage mailboxes and Connect a mail app.
What to do next
- Invite your team from Settings, under Team.
- Add your postal address under Settings, Sender details. Campaigns and automations cannot send without it.
- Make a sign-up form, or import a list you already have, from Audience.
- Set up your logo and colours in Brand, then write your first campaign.
