Contacts and address suggestions
Your own address book: add, edit, import from vCard or CSV, export, and the suggestions you see as you type an address.
Updated 1 min read
Contacts, at the bottom of the left pane in Mail, is your own address book. Nobody else sees it, an admin included.
Add and change contacts
- New adds one: a name or an email address at least, then more addresses, a phone, a company and notes.
- Choose a contact to see it, then Edit to change it, or Write to to start a message to them.
- Search by any part of a name, an address or a company.
- Tick contacts (the circle with their initials turns into a box) and choose the bin to delete them. Undo brings them back.
Import and export
- Step 1: Choose Import from a file (the page with an arrow, beside New) and pick a vCard (.vcf) or CSV file. Exports from Apple Contacts, Google Contacts and Outlook all work.
- Step 2: Before anything changes, you see what the import will do: who is new, who is already here and will be filled in, and anything left out with the reason.
- Step 3: Choose Import. Undo reverses it.
Someone already in your contacts by email address is filled in, never added twice. Export downloads the whole book as vCard, for phones and other mail apps, or CSV, for spreadsheets.
Suggestions while you write
As you type in To, Cc or Bcc, Rykon Mail suggests people from your contacts (marked with the contacts icon) and people you have written to, the ones you write to most and most recently first. Use the arrow keys and Enter, or click one. To stop a suggestion of someone you have written to, choose the × beside it, or press Shift Delete.
